Here are some photos from July, from the Johnson and Wyandotte County courthouses. Johnson County is closed to in-person proceedings, including visits to the court clerk, indefinitely, so we have to appear by videoconference :

NOTICE:  NO IN-PERSON PROCEEDINGS AT THE

COURTHOUSE EXTENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

As we continue regular discussions among our Pandemic Response Team, review the community health reports and have ongoing consultation with the County Health Officials, we are further extending our Phase II hold with no in-person proceedings or service in the Court facilities, including no counter service at the Clerk’s Office, until further notice.

You should plan on your Court proceedings being by video if possible. You can contact the Clerk, Court Administration, and other Court Services and Trustee offices for related court business by e-mail or telephone with contact information that you can find on our Court website.

We will continue monitoring the situation in the community daily and consulting directly with our County Health Officials. We will provide updates as available. We are all anxious to resume in-person Judicial proceedings, Clerk’s Office and other court-related services. However, we are committed to do so only when we can be reasonably assured that those can be accomplished in a safe and healthy manner for all concerned.

As before, please help us convey this information to your colleagues and any self-represented persons with whom you are involved in litigation. And once again, if you have any questions about a specific case, please contact the assigned Division.

Please continue using and encouraging others by example as we you move about in the community to use the best simple health practices to control the spread of this infection and the exposure to others:

  • Use masks or face coverings;
  • Maintain social distancing;
  • Keep your hands away from your face, mouth, eyes and nose; and,
  • Wash your hands and sanitize frequently.

See the Johnson County Health Department website for more information on safe practices.

Thank you for your continuing cooperation.

Be safe.  Stay healthy.
