Here is the announcement from our court, with my highlights for your review:


ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER ON ALL CHAPTER 61 LIMITED ACTION CASES
 
This Order is being issued in response to the recent outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Johnson County Kansas. Given the significant number of identified and projected cases of COVID-19 and the severity of risk posed to the public, and given the recommendations from local public health authorities, it is hereby ORDERED that, effective Friday, March 13, 2020:
 All non-essential hearings for Chapter 61 Limited Action cases will need to be continued to reduce the traffic coming into the courthouse through May 1, 2020. Changes to the Chapter 61 cases currently set in Chapter 61 Court (Division M4, room 222) shall be as follows:
 1) All trials set on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from now through June 30, 2020 shall be continued by the Court. Attorneys should contact the Chapter 61 clerks at [email protected] to reschedule the trials for a date after July 1, 2020.
 2) Aid & Execution and Citation in Contempt hearings currently set will remain on the docket. On any new Aid & Execution and Citation in Contempt pleadings filed, attorneys need to set a date for any Thursday at 9:00 a.m. after May 1, 2020.
 3) The Thursday 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for limited action cases from now through May 1, 2020 shall be continued by the Court as follows:
 a) The cases set on the 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for March 19, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
 b) The cases set on the 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for March 26, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
 c) The cases set on the 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for April 2, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
 d) The cases set on the 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for April 9, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
 e) The cases set on the 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for April 16, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
 f) The cases set on the 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for April 23, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
 g) The cases set on the 9:30 a.m. Answer docket for April 30, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.

 4) Cases set on the Thursday 10:30 a.m. Answer docket from now through May 1, 2020 shall remain on the scheduled Answer date due to the time limitations for forcible detainer (eviction) cases. If a trial on possession is required for a forcible detainer (eviction) case, a trial date for the following Friday at 9:00 a.m. shall be given by the Court on the Answer docket.  
 5) Hearings on garnishment objections shall remain on the Court’s regular docket of Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. due to the time limitations required for a hearing.
 6) The Thursday 11:00 a.m. Motion docket for limited action cases from now through May 1, 2020 shall be continued by the Court as follows:
 a) Motions set on March 19, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 b) Motions set on March 26, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 c) Motions set on April 2, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 d) Motions set on April 9, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 e) Motions set on April 16, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 f) Motions set on April 23, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 g) Motions set on April 30, 2020 shall be continued to Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at11:00 a.m.
 7) Forcible detainer (eviction) trials on possession shall remain on the Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. docket.
 8) The Friday 11:00 Pre-trial Conference docket for limited action cases from now through May 1, 2020 shall be continued by the Court as follows:
 a) Pre-trials set on March 20, 2020 shall be continued to Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 b) Pre-trials set on March 27, 2020 shall be continued to Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 
c) Pre-trials set on April 3, 2020 shall be continued to Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 d) Pre-trials set on April 10, 2020 shall be continued to Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 e) Pre-trials set on April 17, 2020 shall be continued to Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 f) Pre-trials set on April 24, 2020 shall be continued to Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
 The Court encourages the parties and attorneys to communicate with each other to try and resolve their issues without the need of any Court hearing.
 IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PLAINTIFF OR THE PLAINTIFF’S ATTORNEY TO NOTIFY THE OPPOSING PARTY/ATTORNEY OF THE NEW COURT DATE AND TIME AND TO FILE A NEW NOTICE OF HEARING.
